Madrid Protocol fees revised for Colombia

Pursuant to the provisions of the Common Regulations under the Madrid Agreement and Protocol Concerning the International Registration of Marks, the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization has revised the amounts of individual fees applicable when Colombia is designated in an international application or in an application for renewal of international registration or is a subject of subsequent designation.

On 22 April 2022, the government of the Kingdom of Morocco acceded to the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks by depositing its instrument of accession with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization.

USPTO to launch Final Pretrial Conference pilot program

For the efficient management of inter partes (trial) cases, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is planning to implement a pilot program for holding Final Pretrial Conferences on the lines of the federal district court practice.

Singapore postpones effective date of revised Madrid fee

The Government of Singapore has notified the World Intellectual Property Organization that the revised individual designation fee payable to Singapore under the Madrid Agreement and Protocol Concerning the International Registration of Marks will come into effect on 26 May 2022. Originally, the revised fee schedule was to come into force on 8 May 2022.
